What else will the government deliver?

The 2024-25 Budget will be handed down by Treasurer Jim Chalmers on Tuesday 14 May 2024. Although it has been noted that many of the budget’s biggest features have already been announced, including our hard-won battle to have super finally paid on Commonwealth Parental Leave Pay.

We are thrilled that one of our key asks already been promised, and our panel of experts will delve into what this significant change means. However, in our pre-budget submission, this was only one of two major asks. We now need to focus on realigning the LISTO to remedy the fact that the lowest-paid workers pay the highest rates of tax on their super.

There are also many other aspects of the Budget to discuss, including cost of living and Stage 3 income tax cuts – just to name a few – each of which can have a substantial impact on financial equity and security for women.

Join us for key insights and analysis on what the 2024 Budget looks like, as always, with a gender lens applied. Moderated by Women in Super Policy Committee Chair, Ailsa Goodwin and featuring:
  • Georgia Brumby: Executive General Manager, Advocacy, SMC
  • Dr Emily Millane: Policy Analyst, Impact Economics
  • Erin Sales: Senior Manager, Policy and Advocacy, AustralianSuper
